Proposed Major Changes

During the hearing sessions for the Site Allocation and Development Management Policies Development Plan Document Examination in Public the Joint Authorities proposed a number of major changes to the plan, to address issues that arose during the discussions, and that seek to ensure the plan is sound. The Examination in Public has been suspended to allow for consultation on these. We are seeking your views on these major proposed changes, and how they affect the soundness of the plan - for guidance on what 'soundness' means (and for information on the Examination in Public) please click here (link to Lancashire County Council Examination in Public page).

This consultation will run from the 19th January to the 1st March. You can let us have your views by using the comment function when viewing the document, or by writing or emailing us at the address below.

NOTE: Since the Schedule of Proposed Major Modifications was agreed at the Joint Committee meeting on the 7th December, the owners of Burnley Bridge Business Park, following an initial indication of support, have withdrawn their support for the inclusion of Burnley Bridge as a site specific allocation. Without the land owners support the Joint Authorities will not proceed with the designation of Burnley Bridge as a site specific allocation.  This change will be reflected in the Schedule of Proposed Major Modifications presented to the Inspector when the Examination re-commences.
